Guidelines
The fair but focused ethos of the Digital Eve community is the secret of its success online. Honed over many years, these are the guidelines which we ask people to respect in Digital Eve’s online forums.
1
Postings should be on-topic. Anything generally relating to business and/or women's issues from a professional or career perspective is on-topic. We encourage discussion of issues relating to women in the workplace, high-tech culture, etc.
2
All postings must be signed in full name and contain a subject line.
3
Political issues are considered off-topic.
4
On-topic advertisements are allowed once a quarter per advertiser or in response to a question on the list. On-topic advertising typically means relating to professional services.
5
In keeping with the open, fair and supportive ethos of the list we ask that there be no personalized, negative postings on companies, organizations or individuals on the list. If you have had a bad experience you may choose to reply to someone off-line to discuss the issue in question. In the event you would like to warn people about a certain provider or organization, you may note that you have comments on this and if someone would like to learn more - they can contact you off-line. This relates not only to slander, but also to using harsh language or being personally offensive.
6
Any link posted must present on-topic relevance to the group, as well as state clearly what the link is about, such as: recommending a professional service in relation to a request on the list, an article about women professional related issue, etc.
7
Promoting other online groups or lists on DEI or forwarding events of other lists is generally not recommended; otherwise traffic will peak. However, if there is major relevance to a certain issue discussed, then you may send the link, with the same guidelines such as in the former paragraph (stating relevance and subject of the link or event).
8
The Moderator may request that a posting be amended to meet these guidelines rather than reject it outright.
9
Charity or not-for-profit related postings are welcome at any time and will be posted once a month on Digital Eve Care & Share Day . This will take place on the first day of each calendar month or the next working day if this falls on a weekend.
10
Business related Nonprofit and other similar organizations can advertise or promote their services once every six weeks.
